Chiang Rai – Chiang Mai
Day 1 Chiang Rai
Arrive at Chiang Rai Airport by flight, to be welcomed by our tour guide and drive by private air-conditioned vehicle proceeding to check in at the hotel. Proceed to the Golden Triangle Here there are magnificent views over the Mekong River to the physical triangle made by Burma, Laos, and Thailand at the confluence of the Ruak and Mae Khong. Then board on original long-tailed boat along the Mekong River gives spectacular views of the river bank giving the chance to observe the simple way of life of the local people on the Laotian. Cruise back, and lunch at a local restaurant.
After lunch a visit at a small opium museum before drive out of Chiang Rai to Mae Chan district and continue uphill along narrow mountain roads to visit simple Akha and Yao hill tribe villages sand also visit Long Neck Karen village (Giraffe Women), with numerous brass rings around their elongated necks—an extraordinary sight. Return to hotel.
Day 2 Chiang Rai-Chiang Mai-Doi Suthep
Breakfast at the hotel. This morning transfer to the pier and take an original long-tailed boat trip on the lower part of Kok River visiting. Karen and Hill tribe, passing tiny hill tribe villages, bamboo huts, and jungle. After exploring the village, there is the final boat ride of the day back to Chiang Rai. Then visit Wat Rong SueaTean, also known as the Blue Temple, another unusual modern Buddhist temple distinguished by its vivid blue coloring and elaborate carvings. Depart Chiang Rai and drive approx. 3 hours via Wiang Pa Pao district to Chiang Mai with a stop at Wat Rong Khun, also known as the “White Temple” where designed by a famous Artist in Thailand, and lunch will be served at good local restaurants.
Afternoon drive up to Doi Suthep mountain to visit Pra that Doi Suthep temple and to enjoy a panoramic view of the city from the mountain top.
Day 3 Chiang Mai-Craft Village-Elephant Rescue Park
Today visit Sankamphaeng Handicraft Village to see northern handicraft products including silk, silver, Saa paper, lacquerware, etc. Continue the drive to the orchid plantation and a buffet lunch will be served, here we will appreciate the unique beauty of this floral species.
After lunch escort transfer clients for activities at Elephant Rescue Park. Drive back to the hotel.
Day 4 Chiang Mai-Next destination
After breakfast, you will be free until our local guide meets you and transfers you to the airport for a flight to your next destination.
